After many rewarding years of guiding in Southern Vermont, I have decided to step back from the river. Guiding has been one of the great privileges of my life — sharing time on the water, swapping stories, and building friendships that will last well beyond any fishing trip. With that in mind, I am pleased to share that I am entrusting the future of Taconic Guide Service to Brew Moscarello and his team at Trico Unlimited Fly Fishing Adventures & Instruction.
Brew is not only a lifelong fly angler and instructor, but also one of the most respected guides in Southern Vermont. He has spent nearly 40 years fishing and studying the Battenkill and surrounding waters, and his knowledge is second to none. Brew is an Orvis-Endorsed Guide and was recently honored with a nomination for the Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide of the Year award.
Beyond his credentials, Brew and his team of highly experienced guides truly care about the river and the clients they serve. They take an educational & fun approach to angling, with a love of teaching across all skill levels and a deep respect for the waters — making them the perfect crew to carry this tradition forward.
Booking with us ensures that you have a fantastic fishing adventure. Our experienced guides have easily over 80 years combined fly-fishing experience in Vermont. Everything is up to date and double-checked to provide you with a safe and rewarding experience that the entire family can enjoy.
Through Trico Unlimited, we have multiple guides and instructors that are available for hire throughout most of the fishing season.
All experience levels are welcome! We specialize in beginner instruction, casting techniques, and advanced tactics. We also offer large group seminars and private instruction.
You won't have to worry about not being prepared. We provide everything you need to get you started on the right foot. We provide all ORVIS rods, reels, tackle, waders, wader boots, and instruction.
You will simply need a pair of polarized sunglasses (highly recommended) and to dress for the appropriate conditions. Ask us how!
